Edgar Drive Verification Privacy Notice
Effective date: October 5, 2026
Purpose and information accessed
Edgar Drive Verification uses Google Drive read-only metadata access to confirm uploads to J.W. Lee Media’s editor folders. It reads the connected account’s email address to confirm the intended account, and file and folder metadata such as names, identifiers, file types, sizes, and checksums. Although Google’s permission covers Drive metadata across the authorized account, the current verification workflow queries the configured editor folder and its relevant subfolders. It does not use this authorization to download file contents or change files.
Use and storage
Metadata is compared with local delivery records to determine whether the expected files exist online and match local exports. Verification results and metadata are stored in local workflow records on the operator’s Mac. OAuth credentials are stored locally with file permissions restricted to the Mac user. Records remain until the operator removes them; automatic record deletion is not currently implemented.
Sharing
The verifier communicates with Google’s authorization and Drive services. It does not send the retrieved metadata to advertising services, sell it, or use it to train AI models. Photo sharing with editors occurs through the separately configured Google Drive folders and Google Drive for Desktop. The verifier does not change those sharing permissions.
Control and deletion
The account owner can revoke Edgar’s authorization in their Google Account’s third-party connections settings. Revoking access stops subsequent authorized checks but does not delete files already in Drive or local verification records. Contact jon@jwleemedia.com to request removal of locally stored credentials or verification records.
Google API data
Edgar Drive Verification’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
